Traditional Irish wake at the gypsy camp

All the travellers on their way to the Gypsy Camp are invited to take part in a traditional Irish Wake to celebrate the life of Megan's mother.

The dear lady will be celebrated with song, story and poems. The Gypsy Chief will sing the traditional Wake song The Parting Glass.

An Irish Wake is a joyous occasion, to give thanks for the life that was lived, and the time shared, with a beloved person.

All are welcome. Sing her on her way to Heaven!

Gail

In memoriam

the wheel of life spins slowly on and spinning takes us with it. At first it's slow, as a child you wonder whether you will ever reach the end of your journey. As the days flow into years and tens of years, the end approaches all too fast until you career like a rollercoaster towards the mouth of the tunnel and disappear in a flash of golden sparks, a catherine wheel that gives one final gaudy show and is then eclipsed.
Let us raise a glass and wish Megan's mother safely on her way to the other side.

I have always thought that there must be a connection between Ireland and the silk route and the gypsies. My middle name and Mother's maiden name is Ashe (alternativeity Ash). And since I know of Jewish, Egyptian and celtic 'Ashes'(meaning myself)I surmised that there nay ahve been certain families that traveled the silk route as business people and intermarried leaving certain names along the way. Here with this search I come to this site.

Where else may I find info on Silk route traveler names? Anyone know.
